The YIS library is a center for literacy and research, a place that fosters and celebrates the love of reading, and acts as a learning and social hub for the whole school community.

The library's extensive collection includes print books, audio books and ebooks in English, Japanese and nine other languages. These books can be borrowed by the entire YIS community, including students from Early Learning Center to Grade 12, teachers and parents. Our librarians are always happy to help readers find what they need and frequently provide suggestions through displays, book talks, special visits to the ELC and more. Students can also search the library catalog to find the right book, e-book or audiobook for them.

There's always something happening in the YIS library. With the librarians, the elementary and secondary library councils also offer a range of events for students such as Blind Date With a Book, manga drawing competitions, casual jigsaw puzzle session, and more.

Our learning community has access to the digital resources below to assist them in their research and learning, and to explore the vast world of literature
