Alumna Fleur Goetzen paid a visit to YIS after having left the school 32 years ago. She, and her two older siblings, Alexandra and Frederick, attended YIS from 1980-1985. She was happy and surprised to see that some things hadn't changed, particularly the feel of the school as she walked through the hallways. "There is still a small community feel to the school, just as I remember", recalls Fleur. She adds, "My family's days in Yokohama were some of the happiest times of our lives. As I was in Tokyo, I thought I had to make the effort to come to see the school." Fleur continued her visit by looking for her old house behind the school.
We're always grateful to see alumni back on campus. They allow the long, memorable history of YIS to continue as they relate their colorful stories and experiences to us. We're so glad you came back, Fleur.
