Typhoon 24 (Trami) Update
Dear YIS Community,
We have been closely tracking the progress of the very strong Typhoon 24 (Trami), as I'm sure you have as well. The current forecast (as of Sunday afternoon at 3 pm) shows the storm passing through our area in the middle of the night, with the worst of the strong winds and heavy rains hitting us from about 11 pm - 3 am. The storm is projected to be several hundred kilometers to the northeast by 6 am tomorrow morning.
If the typhoon proceeds as currently projected, we are not anticipating any disruption to our school day tomorrow. However, if the storm causes damage to train lines or other transportation infrastructure overnight, there could be delays in the morning. If this were to happen, we might consider a delayed start to the school day.
So for now, please plan for a regular school day tomorrow, but keep an eye on the YIS website and your email inbox. We will update you by 6 am tomorrow morning, if not sooner, should we need to have a delayed start.
In the meantime, stay safe and dry.
