Dragons' Season Underway

Dragons' Season Underway
Dragons' Season Underway

Practices and tryouts were only last week but, for some of our teams, games kicked off this week.

The Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis teams got the YIS Dragons season underway, with matches against Christian Academy Japan at the Honmoku tennis courts this past Wednesday. In what was an incredibly hard fought match, our Dragons unfortunately fell. The boys lost 3 matches to 2 with the girls having 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses. Though disappointed that they did not win their season opener, the team was incredibly positive and optimistic about the rest of the season ahead.

The rest of the weeks action takes place today and tomorrow, but looking ahead to the week of September 11th again quite a bit of sport across the secondary school.

  • Tues Sept 12, 4:00 pm - MS boys soccer teams kick-off their season against Nishimachi, at the YCAC.
  • Thurs Sept 14, 4:30 pm - MS girls volleyball B and A teams continue their season against St. Maur in their first home matches of the year.

Good luck to all our teams this coming week, and as always, GO DRAGONS!
