Artist Virginia Russolo, Class of 2013, who recently completed a degree in Fine Arts at Oxford University, will be exhibiting at t293 gallery in Rome, Italy from June 22 - July 28. Virginia's work in the exhibit entitled Predatory Behaviour "explores the figures of women, men and animals in relation to environment, both natural and man-made, and to the less tangible dream space. Sex, the sacred, spirituality, religion, violence and environmental issues are explored through tapestry-like paintings which discuss current problematics in Western society." Her work is that of several artists in the exhibit. Two of her works are pictured below - Viaggio, left, and San Gallo, right, both mixed media on hand-dyed fabric.
Virginia worked as Art Assistant and Artist in Residence at YIS after graduation. She then completed the Summer Foundation Program at University College of London (The Slade), followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts at The Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford.
