YIS is honored to be the hosts for the SENIA Japan Conference 2019, to be held Sat., Apr. 20. We welcome professional educators from around Japan on this opportunity to exchange ideas, practices and developments that will allow all children to learn and reach their potential.
The Special Education Network In Asia (SENIA) Japan Chapter was formally established in April 2015 by a group of international teachers in Japan, including some from Yokohama International School. The chapter's primary purpose is to support SENIA’s mission of developing a network that promotes awareness and advocacy for children with special educational needs.
Irrespective of culture, learning needs or language every child deserves to learn and learn in different ways. As an extension of the SENIA philosophy, SENIA Japan aims to help professionals in various educational contexts to bring to the fore the best and most effective ways of promoting a love for learning, honor learning differences and accept varied educational approaches to learning.
