Middle School Student
How long have you been at YIS?
I have been at YIS for ten years.
What are your two favorite subjects, and why do you like them?
My two favorite subjects are Design and Individuals & Societies. I love these subjects because we often get to collaborate and share our ideas, as well as gain a different perspective from each other.
What sports and activities are you involved in, and why do you like them?
When I was involved in our girls volleyball team during Season One, my favorite part about it was being able to form new friendships with people in different grades, and bond with others in a way that is different from being in the classroom.
What do you like to do for fun outside of school?
Outside of school, I like to bake or cook for fun. I enjoy trying new flavors and expressing myself through my passion for food.
Which teacher would you like to trade places with, and why?
I think I would definitely enjoy trading places with my Art and Design teachers because they get the opportunity to see and understand how students' creative ideas develop.
What were some surprising benefits you gained from Continuous Learning last spring? Was there anything that you learned about yourself, such as studying styles you prefer, or new habits you developed?
The biggest thing I learned during continuous learning is the importance of time management, through prioritizing my school work. I realized that it is up to us to be wise about the things we spend time on.
What excites you most about the new YIS campus?
I am looking forward to seeing how the bigger campus is going to allow for more opportunities for new clubs or groups that we haven't had before.
