Library

Open from 7:45am to 4:30pm every school day (except Mondays - closed at 3:45pm and Fridays - closed at 4:00pm) and centrally located on the first floor of the main building, the Library offers a range of resources to students to aid in research and support for the curriculum, develop life-long learning abilities and foster a love of reading.
Research
The YIS Library subscribes to several databases for online research. Please follow the 'Databases' link on the left side of this page for access. For information on citing sources and bibliographies, please follow the 'Making a Bibliography' link on the left side of this page.
Parent Role and Use
Parents are welcome to use the YIS Library. Adult use of the Library provides a good role-model for students. Parents may borrow up to eight items for a two-week loan period. A collection for teachers (known as the TRC) is held in the Library and is available to parents. In 2007, a Parent Collection was established in the library, containing recommended books about aspects of parenting and child development. This is located at the front of the library.
We ask that parents and other visitors help us maintain a quiet and studious atmosphere in the Library by refraining from loud and sustained conversations, switching off mobile phones and not consuming food and drink in the Library. Please note that young children should not be left unattended in the Library. Thank you for your cooperation.
